School Department The Town of Milford has a municipal school department. The Dr. Lewis S. Libby School, located on School Street, provides kindergarten through 8th grade education for our students. High school students are educated through a tuition system, where the student and their parent(s) choose the school which best suits their interests and talents. Many students attend Old Town High School, Orono High School, and John Bapst Memorial High School.
The Town of Milford is a member of School Union 90, which includes Alton, Bradley, and Greenbush. Their offices are located on Main St. in Milford. However, in January, 2009, the Town voted not to join an RSU with Old Town, Bradley, & Alton. Greenbush also opted not to join an RSU with these partners. School Union 90 will dissolve as of June 30, 2009, and the Town of Milford School Department will act as a "stand-alone" municipal school department. That being said, the Milford School Department will be sharing personnel and other resources with RSU 34 and other school departments as a method of containing costs.
