Universal wasteThe large building toward the back of the transfer station allows us to collect and store universal waste items. Typically, universal waste items contain mercury and must be disposed of using DEP prescribed methods. ALL items deposited in this area have additional fees associated with them. These fees help cover the cost of storage and processing as well as offsetting any cost if a DEP reportable breakage incident occurs. These fees are: - Fluorescent light tubes & ballasts - 30c per foot.
- Compact fluorescent bulbs, U bulbs, and circles - $ 1
- CRTS (computer monitors, televisions, laptops, etc.)
- Screens up to 19" (measured diagonally) - $ 8
- Screens larger than 19" (measured diagonally) - $ 10
- Console televisions - $ 20
Fees should be paid at the attendant's shack upon entry to the transfer station. |
